As a Registered Dietitian in our acute care hospital, you will be responsible for providing medical nutrition therapy to our patients. You will attend team rounds, perform assessments and follow ups while developing care plans, participate in hospital and community events, and have the opportunity to precept students. Responsibilities

The registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN) will provide high-quality care to the patients and community that he/she serves. The RDN will raise the standards of care through ethical practice and compliance with the Commission of Dietetic Registration and state licensing agency, and abide by the Code of Ethics for the Profession of Dietetics, as established by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (the Academy) and the Commission on Dietetic Registration. Provide Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) according to established policies and procedures for patients as assigned. Develop, implement and promote quality evidence based MNT to meet individual patient needs. Collaborate with members of the health care team to ensure patient's nutrition needs are met. Provide nutrition education/counseling and appropriate medical record/EMR documentation. Participate in the training and education of patient care staff, medical staff, dietetic interns and departmental staff. Supports performance improvement activities of the department and facility. Actively participates in the activities of the Food & Nutrition department displaying a spirit of teamwork.

Qualifications

Bachelor Degree in Nutrition or related field is required

Credentialed Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) or eligible that maintains Commission on Dietetic Registration requirements

Completed continuing professional educational requirements to maintain registration.

A minimum of 1 year of professional experience in nutrition (can include clinical rotations) in a hospital or acute care setting is strongly preferred

Must possess strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

Must be flexible with hours.
