The Manager of Nursing Education is responsible for the system-wide orientation, education and continuing education needs of nursing staff throughout Meridian Hospital Corporation and directly manages the JSUMC site nursing education team. Must demonstrate excellence in operational management while improving service excellence, clinical quality, educational training and educational outcomes.


S/He will be expected to represent Nursing Education in a manner that models integrity and mentorship. Articulates the role of Nursing Education Manager to nursing staff, administrators, physicians and the community Promotes, teaches and manages oneself to foster credibility of the department and its practices. Acts as a resource to teach, sponsor and stimulate Meridian’s defined behaviors of Nursing, leadership and growth. 


In collaboration with and under the direction of the Corporate Director for Nursing Education and Quality, The Manager of Nursing Education will establish clear objectives tied to organizational and department goals.

S/He will manage the budget and track and analyze metrics as needed. S/He will measure program effectiveness to Patient Satisfaction scores and patient outcomes. Organizes and analyzes metrics/data to create a source that is meaningful and useful.


The Manager of Nursing Education will assess needs and course correction both on individual team members and department/systemic levels. In alignment with clinical Corporate initiatives, creates and oversees nurse training programs and activities aimed at improving patient care through efficient, high-reliability practices.


  • Master’s Degree in Nursing or related field is required; PhD/DNP in Nursing preferred
  • Five (5) to Ten (10) years of progressive management experience is required. Experience preferred in a multi-hospital environment of similar size and complexity
  • Current and valid New Jersey Nursing license is required
  • Must be nationally certified with an HMH recognized certification
  • Experience in supporting an ANCC Magnet designated organization is preferred
  • Must demonstrate competence in nursing practice and abilities in teaching and administration; and demonstrated human and labor relations, effective communication, organizational and training skills are also required for this position
