The Plant Operations Manager at Riverview Medical Center is responsible for managing the department, manpower, material & equipment use. Designs & implements policies, procedures, standards and objectives for servicing buildings, building systems and grounds. Evaluates situations/performance and directs appropriate measures to be implemented in order to provide quality assurance to the environment of care. Coordinates with all departments to provide maximum level of timely service to patients & staff. Administers to respective service contracts vendor work and new project installations. Forecasts & develops budget and specific departmental & project financial disbursements. Develops and employs appropriate continuing safety awareness training program to departmental staff. Acts as a liaison to various governmental agencies affecting the physical facilities.

Responsibilities

A day in the life of a Plant Operations Manager at Meridian includes:

 

  • Manage Operating Budget
  • Coordinate all contract work
  • Manage capital construction and equipment installation.
  • Working closely with corporate facilities department.
  • Manages and recommends all building systems infrastructure problems and corrective actions through capital budget development.
  • Develops departmental manpower schedules for most feasible use of work forces.
  • Prepares and reviews requests for proposals.
  • Provides leadership skills to foster staff development in professional growth and development.
  • Provides the direction, recommendations, and tools necessary to the administration for deciding best facility/project use.

Qualifications

  • Requires strong interpersonal, time management and relationship skills to manage day to day operations, staff issues, customer service requests and vendor/contractor needs and priorities.
  • Regulatory and emergency management experience required.
  • Bachelor's degree required. Engineering preferred.
  • Finance/budget management experience.
  • Must have at least 5 years experience in Engineering/Plant Operation Management in healthcare.
